For me the studio is a site of play and experimentation, a site of the self, a safe space to test explore and play. Each act whether considered successful or not feeds into the next. It has a changing energy, in response to the self, but also to light and time. It is a space for destructive acts... to reduce, fold, condense, it for meditative, tasks that slow down time as repetitive work and drawings emerge.
This year I have presented a wall of elements, a juxtaposition of objects, material and tools, for you to make connections and explore the dialogue between the pieces that become elements in a wider picture.
This year I also have the use of the adjacent Studio 11 where I’m showing ‘Towards another Possibility', a sculptural work at its early stages of evolution.
I will also be showing a small number of drawings and prints that are available for sale. These range from £50-£200. The sales of these support my practice.
Finally a confession... I have been in Venice this week and will be travelling back today.. Ollie Neale will be in my studio today and is there to help you navigate the work. I will be there Sunday with all my enthusiasm from Venice!
