June Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd June 1pm - 5pm
Studio 12, Art Space Portsmouth

For me the studio is a site of play and experimentation, a site of the self, a safe space to test explore and play. Each act whether considered successful or not feeds into the next. It has a changing energy, in response to the self, but also to light and time. It is a space for destructive acts... to reduce, fold, condense, it for meditative, tasks that slow down time as repetitive work and drawings emerge. This year I have presented a wall of elements, a juxtaposition of objects, material and tools, for you to make connections and explore the dialogue between the pieces that become elements in a wider picture.

This year I also have the use of the adjacent Studio 11 where I’m showing ‘Towards another Possibility', a sculptural work at its early stages of evolution. I will also be showing a small number of drawings and prints that are available for sale. These range from £50-£200. The sales of these support my practice.

Finally a confession... I have been in Venice this week and will be travelling back today.. Ollie Neale will be in my studio today and is there to help you navigate the work. I will be there Sunday with all my enthusiasm from Venice! I look forward to your visit.

Stretching The Line

Over four days Jeannie Driver and Anna Cady will be using the SVA space as an experimental collaborative space. Jeannie will install new sculptural drawings and collaborate with film maker Anna Cady to explore relationships with process, performance and film.
The work will be exhibited on the Saturday morning (1st Dec) as part of a Q&A where Jeannie and Anna will talk about their collaboration and work, from 11am.
And the gallery will be open until 2pm to view the work. The works sit at the intersection between drawing, installation and sculpture - photography and film.
